Uno Mas Tortillas was started to fund Iglesia El Buen Samaritano a Lake Forest Church Plant providing a holistic ministry to first-generation Latino immigrants.

In 2019, Lake Forest Church and Pastor Victor Leal started Iglesia El Buen Samaritano to love local Latinos who may have given up on church but not on God. Still, people don’t care what you know, until they know that you care. And God cares about all of life.

So language classes began, food was delivered, medical assistance offered, legal counsel secured, marriage counseling provided, police relations repaired, tutoring begun, and college applications completed.

Through it all, meals were shared, always with fresh tortillas purchased 45 minutes away.

While driving 45 minutes to pick-up tortillas, we asked, “How can we serve more people?”

And so Uno Mas Tortillas was born to enable us to reach uno mas. Immediately by providing a local source of fresh, authentic tortillas to the growing Latino population and holistically by funding a wraparound community that tends to the spiritual, physical, and communal needs of local Latinos.
